Weird and Religious
Some Islamic teachings describe paradise as containing rivers not only of water but also of milk, honey, and wine that does not intoxicate. The afterlife environment is portrayed with physical pleasures that do not behave according to normal earthly rules.

In the name of religion
1536 to 1541, Cuzco region of Peru. Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire involved battles, executions, and repression of resistance alongside forced Christianisation. Conquest was framed as spreading the true faith, ending idolatry, and exercising divine authority granted to Christian rulers and missionaries.
Fact
In Zoroastrianism, the end of time includes a final renewal, and Zoroastrianism teaches that evil will ultimately be defeated and creation restored.
Killing in God's name
Jihad follows the same pattern as the crusades or any other mass murder in the name of religion. Once violence is called holy, moral restraint vanishes. Killing unbelievers or apostates ceases to be murder and becomes obedience. Suicide attacks are praised as self-sacrifice. Civilian casualties are dismissed as irrelevant. The individual disappears beneath divine command. Acts of terror committed in the name of faith are not distortions of religious logic but its natural conclusion.
Quote of the day
“Religion is a culture of faith, science is a culture of doubt.” Richard Feynman.
Ask the right question
