Weird and Religious
In ancient Greece, people visited healing temples dedicated to Asclepius, where they slept in the temple hoping the god would appear in dreams and prescribe a cure. Priests then interpreted the dreams as medical advice.

In the name of religion
2019, Sri Lanka Easter bombings. Islamist Muslim suicide attackers targeted Christian churches and hotels, killing hundreds. The group pledged allegiance to Islamic State and justified the attacks as revenge and jihad against Christians and foreigners.
Fact
In Zoroastrianism, ritual purity is important, and Zoroastrianism includes practices aimed at keeping body and environment free from pollution.
Another contradiction
Religion claims humans freely choose actions and are therefore deserving of eternal reward or punishment, yet at the same time god is said to create each person knowing exactly how they will behave and where they will end up. Creating someone while knowing they will be tortured forever is not justice. It is premeditation, and the concept of Free Will does not rescue this but intensifies the moral problem.

Religious Crooks
